The 07.35 Euston - Aberystwyth had set off from Shrewsbury with 25229 and 25076 (rear) but these were replaced at Sutton Bridge Junction (which, given 25229's performance record this year was perhaps just as well!) This pair were dumped in the platform sidings at Shrewsbury following their removal.
