25097 waits under the loading gauge outside Newtown signal box before proceeding towards Shrewsbury.

It was unusual to see spare locos on the Cambrian, other than on Machynlleth shed.  However, unbeknown to us at that time, one of the next pair of engines had already failed and '097 was on its way to replace it.
