25219 heads the 12.22 Crewe - Cardiff service from Shrewsbury towards Sutton Bridge Junction. Before 1979 I used to take numerous lineside railway photographs. The days leading up to a Saturday would be spent looking at what Awayday travel offers were available from the West Midlands and weighing up the photo opportunities that they would present. However on this day Steve, Mike and myself set out for Shrewsbury to photograph the many trains that passed that way on a Summer Saturday. I remember we took a lunchtime break at a local pub and I agreed to take a break from my usual tipple (Rum and Coke) and try a pint of Border Ale. Let's just say that Captain Morgan is still going whilst Border Ales is, like 25s on the Crewe - Cardiff, no more.
