From 3rd June 1978 Shrewsbury photographs

25156 heads past Shrewsbury Abbey Foregate Junction signal box with the empty stock off the 16.10 Aberystwyth - Shrewsbury train.

There was a time, long ago, when I hadn't considered "bashing" engines either because they were new or for mileage.  1978 was my last year of normality, when I could go out for a days photography with my friends Steve and Mike and not worry about what I was 'missing'.  (They are both standing alongside me taking the same photograph!).  This shot was taken quite late on in a day that had seen us take numerous photographs and only now prompts me to wonder what happened to 25141 that had been paired with 25156 on the outward leg?
